About the PSO
Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly in the actions of our initiatives. From the moment we started our work in 2000, we understood that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch UCTech Parent School Organization (PSO)
Scotch Plains, NJ. We strive to make a positive change in all of our pursuits.
The Parent School Organization of the Union County Vocational-Technical High School is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization comprised of parent volunteers from all over Union County who share a common goal. We strive not only to enhance, but to support the educational and social experience of the students and members of our diverse school community. The PSO serves that community by helping connect families within our school not only to each other, but by also being a liaison to the building administrators and faculty when needed. We do this not only by sharing information but by assisting in funding programming and resources, awards and scholarships, as well as assisting with student/family events. Some of those events include freshman orientation, parent coffee with the counselors, a district-wide UCVTS back-to-school picnic, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event, Project Graduation, and many more.
What We Do

Teacher Appreciation Day
Honoring and showing gratitude to our teachers for their invaluable contributions to the education and development of our students with a delicious lunch.
Team Building Day
The PSO served up refreshing italian ice on a day where the school participated in various recreational, athletic, & educational activities as a break from regular classes.
Holiday Breakfast
We kick off the holiday season by treating our faculty to a special breakfast while acknowledging the vital role they play in shaping the future of our children.
Spirit Wear
We are the sole provider of UCTech Spirit wear, offering clothing and accessories that are worn to show support and enthusiasm for our school.
Relay for Life
Relay For Life is an overnight fundraising event sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The PSO is honored to help support this annual school event & provides a breakfast for all participants at UCTech.
Giving Back
We are happy to give back to parents, students, and teachers through fun raffles and prizes throughout the year. Our fundraising efforts help to offset the cost of Project Graduation, student endeavors, and other activities.
Harvest Fest
The UCVTS Harvest Fest is a chance for students & families to gather together for fun & festivities. The PSO hosts a carnival style game for the students with fabulous prizes courtesy of our generous parent members.
Tokens of Appreciation for Faculty & Staff
The PSO Executive Board gave the gift of school spirit to our awesome faculty, staff & admin. We hope that when they use these custom tumblers, they are reminded of how much we appreciate them!
